St. Marks Fiddler Crab Shoreline

Along the shores of the Gulf of Mexico, marshes grow in place of beaches because the wide swath of shallow waters and lack of wave energy. This image was taken at low tide, revealing a golden ribbon along the edge of marsh grasses, which turn out to be millions of fiddler crabs.
